Stig Hedlund founded Hedlunds Pappersindustri in 1961. The idea was to sell high quality gift wrap both nationally as well as internationally. In the beginning, all paper was printed at Åkerlund och Rausing. Years later Stig both his first printing press and converter machine to produce consumer rolls – up until then the rolls had been rolled up by hand and wrapped in cellophane.
Today we have one printing press which print with flexo technique and water based ink, we also have six converter machines , two counter roll machines and one automatic packaging machine.
We have a close collaboration with IG Design Group which the Hedlunds family is majority owner off. IG Design Group has a yearly turnover of five billion SEK and approx. 2000 employees. IG Design Group manufactures in the UK, US, Holland, China, Poland and Australia.
Our collaboration with IG Design Group means that we have access to designs and products from one of the world’s number one gift wrapping company’s.
